Having supply chain data is not enough, you need to be able to translate it into information

We have more and more data available, but we do not always have the right tools to help us translate data into useful information to make decisions for the governance of the company. Let’s start by defining what is meant by data analysis: by data analysis we mean the process of inspecting, cleaning, transforming and modelling data in order to highlight information that suggests conclusions and supports strategic business decisions.

More complexity, more data to manage

Today many companies have large amounts of data regarding supply chains, which over the years increase in parallel with the increase in the complexity of production. This increase in complexity occurs in a context where manufacturing companies are required to maximize efficiency: reducing waste, reducing costs, increasing the level of service, maximizing margins are just some of the daily challenges.

In the production planning department, are we able to use all the data we have? Can we turn this ocean of data into useful information to drive our production?

Tools to turn data into useful information

Today there are tools that in a few seconds process all the data useful for the production planning process, transforming it into information that can be easily used by planners. These tools are the so-called APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling software). These tools collect data from the management system to which they are directly integrated, transform it into information through enhanced graphics, allow what-if simulations and create optimized plans based on business objectives.

CyberPlan is the best-known APS in Italy and increasingly used abroad which, thanks to unique features, allows you to create the best production plans through a mix of automation and user interaction.
